Tiffany DeStaffno, 4th grade teacher, said the most measurable change in her classroom is the amount of time spent in transition from one subject to the next.
“Prior to using Nutrisoda’s Focus in my class it was normal to spend approximately 10 minutes transitioning from reading to science. Change of notebooks, text books, and sometimes seating changes resulted in disruption, breaking of concentration and wasted instructional time. After a few days of using Nutrisoda Focus, I noticed significant improvements in our transition time. Actually it was cut by more than half, using less than 5 minutes to transition from subject to subject. The net gain in an average school day is as much as 30 minutes of instructional time. That is a huge gain, when we are required to produce a certain number of minutes per day in each subject area.
Also, my need as a teacher to repeat instructions has been greatly reduced. For example, previously I may have found it necessary to give one instruction such as “ put all your work away in your desk “ as many as 5 times before I saw responding behavior from students. Now almost all my students respond to the first instruction and only a few require a repeat. This results in a much quieter environment that is conducive to learning."
